Customized Postnatal Health Plan with GOQii

GOQii

Being a mom in today’s world, involves juggling a job, your chores, errands and ofcourse your family. Squeezing in some “me time” among the hustle and bustle seems close to impossible with all tasks already laid out on your schedule. But as the tale goes, catering to your health and throwing in some exercise goes a long way in assisting you with all that is lined up in your daily to – do list. We can help you build a customized postnatal health plan for shedding weight, which includes a diet and exercise plan. You will be able to interact with a doctor, who will be able to assist you with your postnatal health.

Making You A Part Of Your Day

Formulating a good exercise regime is vital to attain fitness goals. It is always good to get in your daily routine first thing in the morning. While a day is full with meetings, and other household tasks, there is a very good chance you may neglect a workout or find an excuse to skip it. Working out in the morning, not only gets your daily exercise out of the way, also sets up your tone for the rest of the day. It boosts metabolism and also the endorphin released helps to spike up your mood and increase energy levels.

Another important fact to keep in mind is that a nutritious diet assists in reaching your fitness goals. Finding time to prepare meals to attain a balanced nutrition is sometimes difficult. You should incorporate essential nutrients in every meal that you take. After delivery it is often paramount to lose the additional pounds you have packed on during pregnancy. In the first few months post delivery, the weight sheds off quite effectively, couple in breastfeeding, and moms note a constant reduction in their weight. However, with time a plateau is attained, and pushing forward to lose more weight is where new moms struggle the most.

A diet conducive to weight loss consists of minimally processed carbohydrates and fat, and a diet rich in fibre, protein and high energy carbohydrates. While the former provides almost zero nutrition, the latter is packed with energy boosting components. This usually includes food like fruits, fresh green vegetables, high fibre carbohydrates in the form of brown rice, pasta and bread and  protein sources include eggs, lean chicken, fish and legumes.

While all these are essential, putting plans into action is where the real conflict lies. A few tips include:

  • Setting a plan in writing: This makes you accountable and more likely to complete it. Noting it down as a task rather than a lingering thought will help you accomplish it daily.
  • Enlisting assistance: It is never a shameful thing to admit that you need help. Ask your spouse, friends and family, to help you with household chores and looking after your little one. Making time for yourself is crucial in order to look after your family.
  • Set realistic goals: While we all wish we looked a certain way, having a clear idea of what is achievable goes a long way. Start with a kilogram a week, and in no time you will find that you are able to achieve more than you set out to in the first place.
  • Choose what works for you: Be it a fitness regime or a diet, use what works for you. There are a plethora of options out there, when it comes to food as well as exercise regimes. Feel free to experiment and mix it up. Ultimately you will find something that suits you.

Raksha Bandhan Challenge to GOQii Players

This festive season- Health is my Priority!

India could not have got a better gift on ‘Raksha Bandhan’- (a festival to celebrate sisters and protect them) with PV Sindhu and Sakshi Mallik bagging medals at the Rio Olympics and not to mention Dipa Karmarkar who put Indian Gymnastics on the world map.

At GOQii as we celebrate women power and congratulate PV Sindhu, Sakshi Mallik and Dipa Karmarkar for making India proud, in the same breath, I would also like to applaud my players who have taken their health seriously and are following every bit of advice given to them. They took up the challenge to make this festive season healthy for themselves and their family.

Managing health of their players during festive season is a big task for coaches! I therefore threw a challenge to my players on ‘Raksha Bandhan’. I asked them what they plan to gift their siblings apart from a box of sweets. My players came up with wonderful ideas and also me with their changed outlook towards health.

Here is how they did it…….

  • Krishna Dalal: – her idea came as a surprise package. She made everything at home with complete control on what type of ingredients she used and why? She not only sent me the pictures but, gave a complete explanation about why she chose this ?

Recipe-1 –Gol Papdi

Recipe 1-gol papdi

This is Gol Papdi which is made of wheat flour, jiggery, dry fruits and ghee. This is completely healthy and hygienic. Made out of organic jiggery and no added preservatives or colours or flavours, these sweets are low in calories and high in energy.

Recipe 2:-

Recipe 2- coconut pak

This is coconut dark chocolate balls. These are made of honey milk and grated coconut with garnished dark chocolate and little ghee. The sweet does not contain sugar and is healthier.

2) Dinesh Mestry: – He always gifted his sisters a box of celebrations but, this challenge made him do something out of the box! This is what he gave his sisters which came as a complete surprise to them as well!

No 2 (Nuts)

3) Shailesh: – Well, after winning the healthy eating challenge on 17th of august, he decided to make her sister also follow the path of healthy eating! This Rakhi, he decided to give his sister an air fryer so that she can make her favourite dishes without compromising on health. Isn’t this simply amazing?

The bond between this brother and sister is quite healthy!

No 3 - Airfryer

(4) Bindu: – A pack full of healthy dry fruits is what she has selected for her brother! Invisible good fats were what she wanted for her brother.

No 4(Healthy- nuts)

(5) Prash: – He gave a fruit basket to his siblings with a packet of dates. This is the first time that he has given something like this to his sisters because he has joined GOQii and is on his path towards healthy diet and wants the same for his near and dear ones!

No 5 - fruits

No 5- dates pack

6) Tejas Master: – He is a complete fitness freak. He wanted something similar for his sister as well so he went and got her granular bars and some dry fruits this Raksha Bandhan as against the tradition box of chocolates.

No 6- granula bar with dryfruits

(7) Shailesh Shinde: – He decided to give his sister a plant. He believes that plants can protect us from global warming too. According to him, women can take care of our environment like she takes care of everybody.

I think this was a very thoughtful gift for a sister from her brother.

No 7- Small plant

(8) Neharika sahani: – She gave her brother an all new GOQii version 2. She has already taken a step towards her health, now it’s her brother’s turn.

(10) Priya Gokul: – She made a jaggery and moong dal payassam for her siblings. This is such a nutrient rich food!

This Rakhsa Bandhan has been a big learning for me. My players came up such interesting gifting concepts that was very healthy. I am proud of my players.

GOQii launches V2 with the expansion into integrated lifestyle management — Adds Doctors and Diagnostics to its Coaching Service

GOQii Ecosystem

Whoever thought that fitness could not be fun? All thanks to GOQii, the technology enabled Health and Wellness Company has changed the way people looked at fitness and lifestyle in India. Two years ago, GOQii realized that only a fitness band will make no sense and became the first to launch version 1 of the band with an integrated human coach. The coach could work with the user’s data to provide customized advice on a regular basis, keeping the user motivated and on track to success through goal reinforcement.

But, it just does not end there. The company has been constantly researching on what could be the next big thing. And bingo! They realized that the version 2.0 was going to be larger than their V1 with lot more interesting features and services on the platform.

GOQii with the launch of its V2 has expanded into ‘Integrated Lifestyle Management’ by integrating doctors and diagnostics, with a bouquet of additional health features such as the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and Health locker along with the all new GOQii fitness band.

GOQii Doctor:

The doctors on GOQii platform themselves believe in lifestyle and minimalistic usage of medication. GOQii has brought on board doctors trained in dealing with general medical and lifestyle related issues. Emotional wellness, counselling and preventive health being the main focus of the doctors, they will collectively work with the coaches and diagnose user’s health and lifestyle problems. The doctor’s consultation will be available to the users through an app-based service over chat and voice call

GOQii Health Locker:

Ever heard of a health locker? Well, now GOQii will also provide you with a health locker where you can safely deposit all your reports post the diagnosis. The health locker acts as a repository for the user’s medical diagnostic history making it readily available to all- coaches, users, doctors on or off the platform, with the consent of the user.

GOQii Health Risk Assessment:

The users will also be able to take a comprehensive Health Risk Assessment (HRA) giving them detailed insights into their overall health situation and a health score.

That’s not all, GOQii V2  hardware also has some interesting features like no other. Some of the Key upgrades of the new GOQii fitness band are:

  • Auto Sleep : The new band comes with an auto sleep detection feature

GOQii supports children affected during terror attacks through Ratnanidhi

2

Mumbai has seen some gruesome terrorist attacks in the past few years. As a result many families have lost their loved ones to these inhuman activities. Most children of these families have lost their financial support and were left with an unstable future. Given this background, the first thing that takes a back seat is always the child’s education.

Let me cite an example of one terror affected family……

“At a tender age of seven, Anjali lost her father during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. A garage worker by profession was shot in his head at Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal Railway Station. Fortunately his mother survived the attack but, was critically injured. Anjali’s younger sister Nikita was just two year old during that period. Her mother Savitri’s world came crashing down with the sudden loss of her husband leaving behind to single handed take on the responsibility of two young daughters and ailing mother in law.

Savitiri with a limited family saving couldn’t see a way to support her daughters education. Here is where an organisation called RatnaNidhi Charitable Trust (RNCT) stepped in as a saviour. She was provided scholarship for her two daughters through RNCT’s Education Sponsorship Program.

With the support of this program, Anjali has now reached to Class 9 and ranks second in her class.  While her sister Nikita is happily studying in Class 4. Watching her two daughter study, Savitri was also motivated to continue her education. She has now completed her 10th from a night school and works with the India Railway to support her family”.

RatnaNidhi Education sponsorship has been working in the field of education. This Program was commenced understanding the need to support children and families of terror attacks. Through this project, Ratnanidhi strives to break the barriers towards acquisition of education for the deprived and underprivileged section.

The Organization works hard to provide a fair chance to every child of this project, especially to the most deprived. There are more 60 children who are still in the process of completing their education and require guidance.

GOQii is currently supporting the cause through its Karma Platform and is looking for support from one and all. Walk, Run as much as you can and earn your karma points and donate them towards this wonderful initiative of educating those lesser privileged kids affected by the gruesome terror attacks.

To know more about the project visit http://www.ratnanidhi.org/Category/educational-sponsorships-for-terror-victims.
