During this entire COVID-19 pandemic, one cannot deny the role that our frontline heroes – the police force have played by tirelessly working to ensure that lockdown rules were followed and providing assistance wherever required. While our unsung heroes do their best to protect us from the pandemic, who is protecting them? Good effort in the service of others rarely goes unrewarded. Let’s look at the story of one of our heroes, Manisha Mahajan from the Nashik Police Force.
Manisha Mahajan has been working with the Nashik Police Force since 2014. Currently, she has been assigned the task of handling the GOQii dashboard for the Nashik police Force. Her task includes monitoring whether the personnel who have been handed the trackers are syncing on a daily basis, sending out reminders if they are not doing it, flagging off if there is a temperature increase alert and contacting the relevant policeman to stay off duty and observe if he experiences any other COVID-19 symptoms. She also constantly motivates everyone around to record as many steps in a day as possible.
Changes After GOQii
While getting inducted into the Police Force, they were required to undergo a 9 month training period which involved a lot of walking, running and other physical activities. However, once she got a posting, all activities stopped due to working in shifts and frequent changes in schedule.
When the tracker was handed out to them by their Commissioner, Shri Vishwas Nangare Patil, at first she wasn’t too keen on using it. However, after a few days, she too got motivated looking at the others actively engaging with the coach and recording a huge number of steps.
Once on the platform, her GOQii Coach helped her with a proper schedule for workouts, meal timings and sleep. She now wakes up early and spends an hour walking, running, and doing bodyweight exercises. She does not skip breakfast, includes at least one fruit every day and has lemon-ginger-turmeric concoction upon waking up. She has also begun including more protein sources in her meals like fish, chicken and eggs. Her rice consumption has been significantly reduced as well.
She tries to walk as much as possible even during her shift and clocks in almost 35k steps on an average, daily. She also performs yoga and meditation a few times during the week. She says that it keeps her fresh and energetic throughout the day and her sleep quality has also improved as compared to before. Since the past 2 months, she has reduced 4kg in weight.
She says the data that she sees on the dashboard and the tracker are great motivators. It is not just her, but her colleagues as well who constantly try to keep increasing their daily step count.
What Does Manisha Mahajan Think About GOQii?
Manisha Mahajan says that GOQii has brought about a lot of positivity in her life. She feels good about herself. In fact, looking at her enthusiasm, even her mother has started taking interest in walking. She now wishes to gift her mother a tracker very soon!
We salute the efforts of Manisha Mahajan from the Nashik City Police Force for her dedication to serve the country as well as remain active!
