GOQii Play Can Change Your Life – Here’s Proof!

Mayur JaluEarly in 2018, we had begun experimenting with live coaching. We had started with 5 coaches who would conduct sessions and share their expertise Live via Facebook. As interests in these sessions grew, so did we. Today, with over 30 coaches who hold interactive classes on topics ranging from health, nutrition and fitness to yoga and emotional wellness, our experiment has successfully blossomed into a colossal mammoth known as GOQii Play. In the course of a year, GOQii Play has helped numerous individuals make a positive lifestyle change via live classes through the GOQii app. We are about to introduce you to one such individual who made the most out of this platform.

Based in Baroda, Mayur Jalu is a 34-year-old working professional employed by Bajaj Allianz. In Oct 2018, he was introduced to GOQii, receiving it as a Diwali gift. With a 3-month subscription in his hand, Mayur wasted little time and began engaging with the GOQii app and tracker immediately. His health goals included weight loss, to stay fit and have an active mind. Since the beginning, Mayur was attracted to the GOQii Play feature and began following it religiously. He regularly watched the 8:30 PM show and sometimes, also tuned in to the 6:30 PM show. His favourite coaches being Apurva and Aliya. Mayur told us that he learned a lot from his coaches on GOQii Play about what he should and should not do in terms of exercise and nutrition. With all the information that he received, Mayur went on to change his lifestyle for the better.

Within 2 months, Mayur reduced from 76kg to 74.1kg.  He now exercises frequently and clocks 7-8k steps on a daily basis. He stopped drinking tea in the morning in order to reduce his sugar intake. Before, he used to consume a lot of oily, fried food which he has now replaced with fruits and salads. He eats a light dinner accompanied by buttermilk and increased his overall water intake. Mayur claims that GOQii Play helped him a lot and thanks to that, he can now spend more time with his son and still manage to sleep as early as 10 PM.

Mayur proved that if you’re determined, you can achieve your goal one way or another. Mayur’s message to everyone out there is, “If I can change, so can you!” and quite rightly so.

To follow Mayur’s amazing journey, join him live on GOQii Play as he shares his story on the 17th of February at 12 PM. Be there! #BeTheForce

This GOQii Player Made the Impossible, Possible!

Avinash-user

“If there is a will, there is a way”, GOQii player Avinash is a living example of this quote. This is the story of how the impossible was made possible with nothing but sheer determination to succeed.

Avinash led a normal life post-retirement. He starts his day at around 6 am in the morning, has his cup of tea and goes for a morning walk without fail. After his breakfast and lunch, Avinash takes a nap for around 2-3 hours, has dinner and goes to sleep. Things started getting difficult after Avinash was diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes. His sugar levels were hovering around 160-175. Even though Avinash tried allopathy for a while, he wasn’t satisfied with the results and this forced him to consider other options. He decided to take a more holistic approach to his condition and considers it one of the best decisions of his life.

Avinash first came across GOQii through texts and email from a programme called Active Axis by Axis bank, which promoted health and fitness. He immediately liked what GOQii had to offer and joined the community. When we asked him about the changes that GOQii brought into his life, this is what he had to say:

“Already experimenting with Allopathy and Ayurveda, I was really disappointed with the results. I wasn’t really sure about GOQii in the beginning but today I’ve successfully reversed my diabetes and I’m no more a diabetic. The changes in my life were very basic but they made a drastic impact on my health and fitness. From my eating habits to the number of hours I slept, everything was closely monitored to bring out the best in me. The guidance and motivation provided by my coach is a big contributing factor to my achievement. I used to write a daily diary of physical activities, food intake and other activities, which I uploaded daily on the app. Based on the information, my coach guided and instructed me toward better fitness. I was determined to succeed and stuck to my goals with dedication. Due to this, I received a lot of appreciation from the coach regularly, which in fact was quite encouraging for me.

As far as food intake and nutrition was concerned, I increased the number of proteins, fruits, vegetables, salads and reduced the quantity of wheat and rice in my daily diet. The quantity of these items was decided in such a way that I should not consume more than 1000 to 1200 calories in a day. I started consuming dry fruits like almonds, walnuts and seeds like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and also started drinking Amla Juice every day in the morning. I detox my body regularly by drinking spinach, apple, mint and lemon juice twice or at least once a week. Spicy foods and junk are totally out of my diet and the results are marvellous.

My water intake has increased from 1 to 1.5 litres to 2 to 2.5 liters a day. I walk for two to two and a half hours twice, every day. I have been achieving my daily target of 10,000 steps a day and 70,000 steps a week consistently since I joined GOQii. On many occasions, I have exceeded 100,000 steps in a week as well. I have been monitoring this with the help of a tracker provided by GOQii. Yoga and Art of Living programs have also become a healthy part of my life.

Today, my sugar levels are back to normal and I’m very proud of what I have achieved, equally thankful to GOQii for helping me reach my goals.”

What did Coach Trisha have to say about her player Avinash?

“Since the time I started coaching Avinashji, I was sure that diabetes reversal with him was absolutely possible! He has always been extremely cooperative, irrespective of what the circumstances were.  He is a live example of how important it is to take care of yourself even while traveling. Even after reversing his diabetes, he has never gotten off plan! Kudos Avinashji!”

This is an excellent example of how you can turn your life around. If you feel like you are not at your best health, may this story encourage you to work towards fitness! It always seems impossible until it’s done.

How polluted is India? -GOQii India Fit Report 2019

pol

Pollution is an issue that has been eating away at the heart of India for a long time. According to the GOQii India Fit Report 2019, 9 out of 10 people on Earth breathe highly polluted air and 80% of the people living in the city are often exposed to outdoor pollution that exceeds the health standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Among countries that have high levels of air pollution, India leads the way for its consistency in producing hazardous air. The GOQii India Fit Report 2019 conducted a survey among 8 cities to find the most polluted and liveable cities in India. Here is what we found out after carefully analysing the Pollution Index based on three factors i.e Air, Water and Food Pollution.

Pune

Pune was voted as the most liveable city in the country, while Delhi was rated as the worst because of the city’s terrible air quality. Chennai was voted as the city with the worst water quality at (3.3), the only city to have water quality which is worse than air. Chennai is recording poor water quality for the second time in the past two years. Pune, as mentioned before, has the best ratings in terms of food (4.0), water (3.8) and air (3.5) when compared to the other major cities of India. Mumbai has a rating of (3.8) for both food and water, while air quality was rated at (3.0).

Bangalore and Kolkata have the same ranking for air, water and food at 3.8, 3.3 and 2.9 respectively. These two cities were rated with the lowest air quality, only behind Delhi which was rated (1.17).

The India Fit Report 2019 asked people to rate the quality of Air, Water and Food in their cities, out of which Air was voted the worst at (3.0) which shows a dip from last year. Water and Food which was rated higher than Air showed a dip in their trends when compared to last year. This is a very serious situation which should be looked into and necessary actions need to be taken to control this downward trend of Air, Water and Food quality.

Out of all the surveys conducted by the Report, it is safe to conclude that Pune is the most liveable city in India because it recorded the highest ratings in terms of Air, Water and Food quality. Pune is also the second in terms of cities with good air quality, only behind Ahmedabad with a better Pollution Index.
