Stay Active, Stay Covered, Stay Stress Free | World Health Day

stay active stay covered stay healthyOne of the key points mentioned during GOQii’s annual event in December last year was that our current healthcare systems focus more on ‘sick care’ rather than preventive healthcare. Measures taken to ensure good health are often reactive as compared to proactive. The problem with this approach is that any precautions we take concerning health won’t be in place until it is too late.

We couldn’t stress more on why this mindset of ‘sick care’ is unyielding as opposed to leading a healthy lifestyle from the start. But as the case with most diseases and unpredictability of unfavorable circumstances, you can never be too prepared. With high healthcare costs and the trust in the healthcare systems decreasing, health insurance is certainly the need of the hour.

Universal Health Coverage

Everybody everywhere is entitled to health coverage that does not harm or put their finances at risk. Based on the WHO constitution of 1948, which declared health a fundamental human right and on the Health for All agenda set by the Alma Ata declaration in 1978, this year’s WHO theme for World Health Day is Universal Health Coverage. It is to ensure better health and protection for the poorest of the poor.

India and Universal Health Coverage

In India, approximately 62% deaths among men and 52% among women, occur due to non-communicable diseases. Due to the low utilization of the public health system, lack of effective management, awareness, and fragmentation of the healthcare services, families are forced to incur high expenditures leading to impoverishment and poverty on account of medical and hospitalization expenses. (source: https://www.pmjay.gov.in)

In an attempt to fulfill the vision of Health for All and Universal Health Coverage, the government conceived Ayushman Bharat, an initiative led by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ayushman Bharat encompasses two complementary schemes, Health and Wellness Centers and National Health Protection Scheme. The Protection Scheme is envisaged to provide financial risk protection of Rs 5 lakh per family, per year to poor and vulnerable families arising out of primary and tertiary care hospitalization.

GOQii to Introduce Reiki Booster Pills!

Reiki PillsThe Reiki Revolution has taken the world by a storm and everyone is turning to this form of alternative medicine. Although some people disagree and term it as pseudoscience, there is enough evidence to conclude that universal energy is real and can be harnessed to heal a person from emotional and physical ailments.

What is Reiki?

Developed by Mikao Usui in 1922, Reiki is etymologically derived from the Japanese words rei which means soul or spirit, and ki which means vital energy. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which the universal energy is transferred through the palms of a master to the patient in order to encourage physical, emotional or mental healing.

How Do Reiki Pills Work?

With no master or practitioner to guide or heal you without touch, how exactly do these pills help you harness energy from the universe? After thorough research on the effects of certain elements on the brain and a lot of trials and tribulations later, we found that when certain natural compounds are introduced in the human body, they create a reaction that enables your body to directly harness energy from the universe.

Since ancient times, well-known Rishis and Gurus from India have meditated in nature and have attained profound wisdom and nirvana. Why so? Why is it that in today’s times, with all our technology, we find it so difficult to find the peace or wisdom they did? We believe that the environment they were in had a crucial role to play in their enlightenment. The answer was in nature itself!

After much research, we were able to detect the elements and their effects on different brainwaves, namely, Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta and Gamma. We found that certain elements can trigger a reaction and influence these brainwaves to form a higher connection with universal energy for a certain period of time. This led to improved motor skills, reflexes and a burst of energy that lasted throughout the day. Other changes included an increase in focus, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new skills quickly.

Apart from the aforementioned positive outcomes, there were no notable side-effects on brain function or the body. With all the universal energy pouring directly into you, the possibilities are endless! You could heal from all your physical ailments. By connecting with a higher conscience, you need not worry about mental or emotional illnesses. You might even be able to live longer!

Thanks to the positive results of our testing, we will be launching the one-of-a-kind, never-seen-before ‘Reiki Booster’ on the GOQii Health Store soon. You can purchase the same for a huge discount with GOQii Cash. Stay tuned to the app, use this miracle product and make yourself healthier with the power of Reiki!

A Step Towards a Healthier Future | India Steps Challenge

How many times have you woken up to the sound of your alarm, only to push it on snooze and go back to sleep? How many times has your day been a blur of monotonous routine, backed by the lack of energy and motivation to do anything? Have you been juggling meals between Swiggy and Zomato instead of a nutritious home-cooked meal? Has your desk job tied you down to your chair in more ways than one while stress, head-aches and other pains take refuge in your body?

Have you ever wished for a change?

Change is coming, but before that, let’s go over some stats. If you think you’re the only one suffering from body-aches, lifestyle diseases or a complete lack of energy, our recent IndiaFit Report says otherwise. Apart from over 57 per cent of the population across key cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai being overweight, there has also been a steep rise in lifestyle diseases. Diabetes has increased to 5.1% in 2018 from 3.6% in 2017, Cholesterol has increased to 12.1% in 2018 from 5.2% in 2017 and High Blood Pressure has increased to 9.4% in 2018 from 4.9% in 2017. This spike in numbers can only be attributed to one thing – a lack of physical activity.

Indians Among The World’s Laziest?

With technology simplifying so many things for us, the need to physically move has deteriorated along with our health. In a study published by Stanford in 2017, Indians were found to be among the world’s laziest citizens, clocking in an average of 4,297 steps a day and ranking 39 among the 46 countries that were surveyed. Though the number has improved to 6783 as per our IndiaFit report, it is hardly any reason to celebrate.

Given the grave circumstances we’re facing, our only option is to get active and we must get active now! In an attempt to curb lifestyle diseases, GOQii will be initiating a movement to make India an active and healthy nation by using one of the oldest and greatest forms of physical activity-walking! If you’re unsure about how walking can help, let us tell you that it is known to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, boost immunity, aid weight loss, reduce stress and depression while significantly increasing overall productivity among a myriad of other health benefits.

The GOQii India Steps Challenge in partnership with Network 18 begins today, the 22nd of February and is open to any Indian resident who has installed the GOQii app. This unique initiative aims at making walking a rewarding experience. All you need to do is clock 6000 steps a day for 100 days on your GOQii tracker or in-built phone sensor to collect points and claim rewards. Overall, we are issuing 40,000+ prizes worth INR 5 Cr. with one grand winner taking home INR 5 lakh in cash. Other prizes include backpacks, GOQii trackers, exercise gear and mobile phones.

While these rewards are a tempting offer to begin walking, remember that the real wealth is good health! So download the app, charge your trackers and lace up your walking shoes! It’s time to make India the healthiest country in the world!
