GOQii Trail Challenge 2023 FAQs

  • When is the GOQii Trail Challenge 2023?
    The GOQii Trail Challenge is a 3 day event from Friday, 8th December to Sunday, 10th December with the 50 km walk held on Saturday, 9th December.

    This event is held in Mandangad, Maharashtra (around 200 kms from Mumbai) and all registered participants must arrive at 9:00 AM sharp on Friday, 8th December at the GOQii Mumbai office. Multiple buses are arranged to leave at 10:00 AM and reach Mandangad by approximately 2:00 PM

    We will return to Mumbai on Sunday, 10th December post breakfast. Arrival at Mumbai would be around 2:00 PM.

    Please note: The bus service is available only for those who have opted for the to & fro travel package.

    Who can participate in the GOQii Trail Challenge?
    Anyone can participate in this event, as long as they are above 18 years of age.
    ELITE GOQii Players and past participants are eligible for a special offer on this year's registration fee with food & stay.
    Please note: Participants below 18 years of age will need to provide a written consent by their parents/guardians in order to be eligible for registration.

    I want to know more about the GOQii Trail.
    This unique 50 km trail is located in Mandangad, a village situated at the extreme north of Ratnagiri District in Maharashtra, around 4 hours from Mumbai. Further details on the trail will be provided soon.

    What are the support options available on the trail?
    Support will be available only at checkpoints, which are 6 in total (including start/finish line). Access to basic facilities such as drinking water, portable toilets, first-aid and refreshments are available at all checkpoints. In case of emergencies, ambulances will be made available too.

    What are the provisions made to tackle an emergency in between checkpoints?
    An emergency number will be provided. Once called, the medical emergency team will reach you as soon as possible.

    Is there a guide/volunteer to guide us through the trail?
    No. Your team will have to follow the trail markings to stay on the right path.

  • What is the registration fee for the GOQii Trail Challenge 2023?
    Solo participant registration fees are priced at ₹13,500/- while teams of 2 registration fees are priced at ₹23,000/-. The registration fees for GTC 2023 include food & stay costs for this 3 day event.
    *Please note: The registration fee for GTC 2023 is non-refundable and excludes to & fro travel services, which is an additional cost.* (Solo: ₹2,500/- & Team: ₹4,000/-)


    How do I successfully register for GOQii Trail Challenge 2023?
    Single participants can register by selecting the ‘Single Participant’ option, after which you can proceed with your registration.

    For team of 2 registrations, you can select the ‘Team of 2’ option, after which you can proceed with the registration. The user registering the team would be designated as the ‘Team Captain’ who must fill details of both members.

    Mandatories required for all participants (single & team of 2) to be eligible to participate in this event are:

    • Complete information of both team members
    • Age proof certificate of each participant
    • Verified medical/fitness certificates

    The final deadline to register for GTC 2023 is on 24th November.

    What will the registration fee of GTC 2023 cover?
    The registration fee will cover costs for setting up the trail, necessary infrastructure, event logistics, welcome kits and other informational material needed for the event. In addition to this, facilities such as drinking water, portable toilets, first-aid kits, refreshments, resting areas and all checkpoints (including start and finish) are mandatory for hosting any mass participation endurance event, which we will be provided by us. This year’s registration fee also includes food & stay facilities for which the details are provided below.
    • Food: Healthy vegetarian meals will be provided, starting from lunch on 8th December to nutritious breakfast on 10th December. This will also include all meals the day of the 50 km walk at various checkpoints i.e. on 9th December.
    • Stay: We will make arrangements for comfortable tented accommodation with mattresses. Clean bathroom & sanitation facilities will be made available both at the campsite and on the trail.

    Please note: Stay in tented accommodation is on a sharing basis. Upgraded cottage stays are available at an additional cost on a sharing basis too.

    Can we change team members after registering for the event?
    Only Team Captains are allowed to replace a team member up to 2 weeks before the start of the event and no changes shall be accepted after that. You must also inform GOQii by sending an email to rylan@goqii.com with a valid reason for doing so.

    We are unable to register online.

    If we wish to withdraw from the event, can we get a refund on the registration fee?
    No. There will be no refund provided to an individual or a team, should you wish you withdraw from the event.

    How will the organizers keep us informed?
    The best way to stay updated on the upcoming GOQii Trail Challenge 2023 is by downloading the GOQii app from the Google Play Store or iOS App store

    Once registered, we will send out periodic updates to all participants through emails, SMS notifications and updates on the GOQii app. It is therefore important that you provide us with your correct email ID and telephone number to stay updated about the event.

  • What is the cost of travel packages for GTC 2023?
    To & fro travel packages are priced at ₹ 2,500 for a solo participant and ₹ 4,000 for a team of 2. You can also choose to make your own arrangements for travel, should you wish to not travel with us.
    Please note: This is an additional cost and is not included in the registration fee

    What is included in the travel cost for GTC 2023?
    To & fro travel arrangements for your end to end travel from the GOQii office in Mumbai to the venue of the event in Mandangad on Friday, 8th December. This will also include the return journey from Mandangad to the GOQii office on Sunday, 10th December 2023.

    How do we get to the event location?

  • Am I fit enough to participate in the GOQii Trail Challenge?
    We believe that anyone can participate in the GOQii Trail Challenge. However, it is important you maintain a disciplined schedule by training well, eating right and having a positive attitude. You should follow the training calendar and also engage with your GOQii coach.

    How should I start training for the 50 km walk?
    13 weeks prior to the event is an ideal time to start training for the GOQii Trail Challenge. It is also important that you eat right and train well for the event. Check out the training calendar and nutrition chart here.

    What shoes should I wear for the GOQii Trail Challenge?
    Training or hiking boots should be fine. The best thing to do is start training on a similar trail and find out what works best for you. Complete gear list is available here

    How do I recover after completing the GOQii Trail Challenge?
    It is important you drink water and eat snacks that include some carbohydrates and protein 15 to 30 minutes after the event. This will help your muscles absorb the nutrients and help you recover effectively. Drink plenty of fluids 24 to 48 hours after the event, sports drinks if you need to recover quickly. Avoid drinking alcohol as it negatively impacts nutrition recovery and soft-tissue injury caused by excessive body strain.
